19 January 2015

So yeah, my first P-Day in CANADA!!! not too crazy up here. there's snow like everywhere, especially on the sides of the roads, where it's all black and nasty from the road and cars driving on it. i'm uber tired though because i didn't even get to stay in my own room last night. we came into Med Hat (Medicine Hat) last night for district leader training for my comp and a zone conference tomorrow. but yeah, here's a bit of what happened the last couple days!! last Friday, we had a dinner appointment already set up with one of the members, but it was this super old lady who could only give us money through the bishop here. before we went though, we visited a family who my comp was already acquainted with. we talked for a bit and they just had us stay for dinner and we ordered Chinese take-out haha. but after that we just went home and studied a bit and planned for the next day. Saturday, we studied basically all morning and got free sandwiches from this member owned health food store, which is pretty awesome!! we can get one free every day too!!! also, we have a bishop store house or something where we can get like breakfast cereal whenever we want basically, so that's like every meal provided basically!! haha then we did a bit of tracting and the first house we knocked on, was this really nice lady who said her husband used to be a member, and we could come by some time this week! but we didn't do a whole lot more that day. it's been really slow so far since we don't know ANYONE here because they took out the other 2 missionaries before us and dropped us in here, so we don't know what we're really doing, which really stinks. but sunday, we had ward council at 10, and while we were in there, it rained a bit outside and froze over, so the roads were pretty much completely covered in ice!! it was super sketchy, and we still had to go get a member who needed a ride, and it was uber sketch. but then last night, we had to head out here to med hat for all the meetings and stuff. so here i am in the stake building emailing. but anyways, i'm doing great here and bought some REAL boots saturday, and i got a super awesome trench coat jacket that some other missionaries left behind so i think i'm pretty set on clothes haha. so yeah, if anyone wants to send me anything, i could go for some Tony's, because NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THAT IS!!!! hahaha anyways, i'll keep updating you guys and i hope y'all are doing good down there ;) I love you guys!! Sincerely, Elder Levi Windham oh yeah, and i forgot to mention!! if any of you guys send me something by mail, it'll take probably up to about a week to get here, and then i won't get it immediately because it has to go to the mission home, then they give it to us at like conferences or something. and postage up here is like $1.50 or something, so you have to get international stamps which i hear are hecka expensive, or US-Canada stamps... send anything to Elder Levi Windham 7044 Farrell Road SE Calgary, AB T2H OT2 Canada so my suggestion would be like email if you want to tell me something, or like figure something out haha. oh, and dear elder works up here too!!! it's like a dollar or something, but you can do DearElder!! haha and sorry, one more thing... Lundins, if it isn't too much trouble, could y'all send my beautiful sunglasses i left in the truck? it's kinda a major bummer that i forgot them, and you don't have to, but i really miss em haha. i could just buy somemore if i have to. i looked today, and honestly, the shopping up here is tough. they have like WAY less than the US, and everything is WAY expensive too. soooo if it isn't too much trouble, could you guys send my glasses? anyways, again, i love you all and hope you're all doing great. thanks for being so supportive of me and taking such good care of me all these years :) Love, Elder Levi Windham
