So yeah, my first P-Day in CANADA!!! not too crazy up here. there's snow like everywhere, especially on the sides of the roads, where it's all black and nasty from the road and cars driving on it. i'm uber tired though because i didn't even get to stay in my own room last night. we came into Med Hat (Medicine Hat) last night for district leader training for my comp and a zone conference tomorrow. but yeah, here's a bit of what happened the last couple days!!
last Friday, we had a dinner appointment already set up with one of the members, but it was this super old lady who could only give us money through the bishop here. before we went though, we visited a family who my comp was already acquainted with. we talked for a bit and they just had us stay for dinner and we ordered Chinese take-out haha. but after that we just went home and studied a bit and planned for the next day.
Saturday, we studied basically all morning and got free sandwiches from this member owned health food store, which is pretty awesome!! we can get one free every day too!!! also, we have a bishop store house or something where we can get like breakfast cereal whenever we want basically, so that's like every meal provided basically!! haha then we did a bit of tracting and the first house we knocked on, was this really nice lady who said her husband used to be a member, and we could come by some time this week! but we didn't do a whole lot more that day. it's been really slow so far since we don't know ANYONE here because they took out the other 2 missionaries before us and dropped us in here, so we don't know what we're really doing, which really stinks.
but sunday, we had ward council at 10, and while we were in there, it rained a bit outside and froze over, so the roads were pretty much completely covered in ice!! it was super sketchy, and we still had to go get a member who needed a ride, and it was uber sketch. but then last night, we had to head out here to med hat for all the meetings and stuff. so here i am in the stake building emailing.
but anyways, i'm doing great here and bought some REAL boots saturday, and i got a super awesome trench coat jacket that some other missionaries left behind so i think i'm pretty set on clothes haha. so yeah, if anyone wants to send me anything, i could go for some Tony's, because NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THAT IS!!!! hahaha anyways, i'll keep updating you guys and i hope y'all are doing good down there ;) I love you guys!!
Sincerely,
Elder Levi Windham
oh yeah, and i forgot to mention!! if any of you guys send me something by mail, it'll take probably up to about a week to get here, and then i won't get it immediately because it has to go to the mission home, then they give it to us at like conferences or something. and postage up here is like $1.50 or something, so you have to get international stamps which i hear are hecka expensive, or US-Canada stamps... send anything to

so my suggestion would be like email if you want to tell me something, or like figure something out haha. oh, and dear elder works up here too!!! it's like a dollar or something, but you can do DearElder!! haha and sorry, one more thing... Lundins, if it isn't too much trouble, could y'all send my beautiful sunglasses i left in the truck? it's kinda a major bummer that i forgot them, and you don't have to, but i really miss em haha. i could just buy somemore if i have to. i looked today, and honestly, the shopping up here is tough. they have like WAY less than the US, and everything is WAY expensive too. soooo if it isn't too much trouble, could you guys send my glasses?
anyways, again, i love you all and hope you're all doing great. thanks for being so supportive of me and taking such good care of me all these years :)
Love,
Elder Levi Windham

Guys, I'M IN CANADA!!!!!!! all my preparation is actually paying off!!! I'll start by just telling you about... well, like everything haha.
We woke up Tuesday morning at 5:00 in the morning so we could finalize putting a few things away, getting dressed, and heading out. we had to be at he MTC travel office at 6:15, and we left to the airport at like 6:45, a little behind schedule. on the way, i met a few other people going to Calgary with me and my comp. One of them is from Toronto, but who cares about him, he's too prideful for me haha. but we went to a train station first and hopped on a train. after like a 30 minute to an hour long train ride (i didn't really keep track of time), we go off, walked over to another area, and waited for another train. after that one, we were at the airport. we just went straight to our terminal, and waited around for a bit. a couple people went and got breakfast, and me and a few others stayed behind to watch the luggage. after they got back, my comp was still on the phone, so i tried to call too. the calling card i came here with didn't work for some reason, and kept saying it didn't support the numbers i was trying to call. but thankfully, while i was trying to figure something out, some totally random lady was walking by and OFFERED me to use her phone!!! i was like ummmm i don't know, i may take a while. thankfully she was an employee, and she just said that once i'm done, i can just take it around the corner and knock on her office door and give it back!! well once i was done calling, i went and got some McDonald's (amazing food after the mtc haha), ate, and boarded the plane. when we landed, we went to customs, which apparently is super lengthy and whatever for Canada. all we did was give someone our passports, go to immigration, give them our passports again, wait a bit, come back, GET our passports, and we're good!! haha then we went and met the mission president and his wife, who are both SUPER AWESOME!! take some pictures with him, and head to the mission home. once we got there, we had some orientation stuff, a short one on one with the mission pres., dinner (which also rocked), and went to sleep. the next day (Wednesday), we just had breakfast, had a little more orientation stuff, and basically waited around until 1:30), when all the trainers come and we find out where and with who we're going!!! we had a short slideshow presentation of the mission, us new guys bore our testimonies (i cried of course, as y'all may be able to guess), and then it was time. we each got a little slip with a paper saying who we have and where we go. i am in the Medicine Hat zone, Brooks ward/area, and my trainer is Elder Keck!!!!! I'M SO STOKED!!! Last night, the first night IN THE FIELD, we went to an investigators home and had dinner. the were all Mexican and only the kids spoke a little bit of English. i was a little nervous at first, but discovered that i actually understand like 75% of what pretty much EVERYONE IS SAYING!!!! even like the crazy fast native speakers i can sort of understand!!! but now, today, i'm finally in my zone and area and ward for the next 12 weeks!!! my trainer is super cool and i really don't think i'll have a single problem with him. he's a super cool guy and really nice. unfortunately though, he dies in 3 transfers :( but that's ok, i'll have some kids some day i can pass his legend onto :) oh, and everything like going home, training, and whatever else like that, is like dying, having kids, being a grandpa, being an uncle, etc. haha but it's super cool, and we had dinner tonight with a member at some buffet. it was pretty good. i keep hearing, also, from pretty much all the other missionaries I've talked to, that brooks (my area i'm in) is super awesome, and has a lot of work. mostly English unfortunately, but a lot of work. I've also heard that this mission is a lot like something like Europe, where there isn't a high baptizing rate, but i know for a FACT that that won't get me discouraged, and if the church is true, then one way or another, these people will have their chance to hear it, and make their decision to accept or deny Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. So it's not me they're rejecting, it's Him. I Love you all, and hope you're having a blast back in Texas, because i think i'm gonna have a blast up here :)
Sincerely,
Elder Levi Windham
P.S. you have to send mail to the mission home.... i'll send it to y'all next week. i'm out of time for today. and i'll also send pictures too :) love you guys

HEY GUYS!!!!
I have only THREE MORE DAYS INCLUDING TODAY UNTIL I'M IN CANADA!!!!!! there isn't a whole much I have I can talk about this week, but I do just want to leave you all with my testimony on repentance and the power of the atonement.
None of us are perfect, and we all know that. we have all made mistakes in our past that we feel are hopelessly horrible, and we can't come back, so why try..? i have done things in my past too. but i can testify to you, that as though your sins be as scarlet, they can be made white as snow... Heavenly Father wants us to be happy, and to not have to feel the guilt of our sins throughout our lives. Jesus Christ came to this earth and suffered for all our sins so that we can be made clean through him again. the atonement is not a one time thing. it is an eternal atonement. God the Father and Jesus Christ know we aren't perfect, and we may slip up, and make the same mistake more than once, but i can testify, with all my heart and all sincerity, that if you have the true desire to be forgiven, and are willing to do what it takes to make it happen, and we accept the consequences that follow, you can be forgiven and return to our savior with full forgiveness. do not be afraid to admit your sins. it requires a great deal of humility and courage, and the willingness to accept the decisions of our Lord, but it is 5000 times better than having to carry your guilt with you forever. cast your problems on the savior and plead for forgiveness, and really change your heart and be sincere in everything. i love all of you, and everyone else who can't hear me, and each and every person in calgary canada, and i want to bring this message to them, and i want ALL of you to know, that Jesus Christ suffered the ultimate price so that we may be saved and brought back unto our Heavenly Father. I have met so many people who have fallen to the weaknesses of flesh, and i have also met so many people who have overcome those weaknesses. but i know that that can only be done through our savior. again, i exhort all of you to rely on your savior for each and every trial in your lives, because i know he came here and died for us because he loves us more than we can fathom, and he wants to help us....
I love you all, and am so infinitely grateful for everything you all have given me and helped me with. I wouldn't be the person i am today without all of you. i truly have been watched over by the savior, and i look to put all my heart, might, mind, and strength into showing Heavenly Father how thankful i am for everything he has blessed me with. everyone, please make sure you let Heavenly Father know how thankful you are for everything. He has done more for us than we can EVER imagine. I love you all, and i say these things in the name of our Lord and Savior, our true redeemer, Jesus Christ, amen.

anyways guys, here are some more pictures from this past week :) the funny ones with the the teacher, that is the COOLEST teacher i have ever had, and i learned more spanish from him than with any other teacher!! the other one is one of the other "floater" teachers who just helps people who need it. his name is hermano meek, and it's funny because there is another teacher named hermano humble hahaha. the glow stick one where theyre just lined up, that's when i stuff them in the springs of the bed above me and it was like a super colorful awesome night light :P

I didn't take a bunch of pictures this week, but these are some that i did take. the one of the "ninja" is my companion using my scarf to take a nap because he was super tired and i was reading so i wanted the light on in class hahaha. then that's where we do laundry. it's in the basement of 1M, which is where we have our meals and church, and it's the front building next to the entrance of the MTC and all the new missionaries come in. then the other one is of this guy in my zone who looks EXACTLY like flippin Justin Beiber!!! haha you can't really tell in the picture, but he's said how he's been paid to go to like little kids' birthday parties and pretend to be justin beiber and like give them flowers and just leave. he said he did it for some like 7 year olds and when he left, they all started crying hahaha
